About Us

My name is Michael Marriott-Smith. I have been around antiques and vintage collectables ever since I can remember. My Father used to deal in antiques and vintage items and he had a shop in Bexleyheath, Kent.

I myself was involved in looking at, as well as handling antiques and vintage objects from a young age. I liked to listen to my Father and Brothers talk about items like paintings, guns, swords, furniture and all types of ceramics as well as silver items, clocks and watches. I was lucky growing up with a broad general knowledge of the antique and vintage trade scene. My two older Brothers worked in my Dad’s shop when they left school, as did I on a Saturday, whilst still at school. My two Brothers set up their own businesses. One having a militaria and antique auction house in Kent. Which I also used to work at when I could in the school holidays and the occasional evening, especially when there was an auction on.

I got to see and feel lots of real antiques like flintlock and percussion, pistols and rifles. I also handled all types of swords like Spanish jeweling swords, navel and cavalry, samurai swords, antique clocks, watches, furniture and china, etc.

My other Brother set up a business selling items from his mail order catalogue, as well as importing and exporting goods. He also use to enjoy, selling and buying all types of antiques in auctions. I also worked for him for a time and enjoyed meeting and dealing with traders.

I started doing antique fairs where I use to rent a pitch, selling my own items. Eventually I had my own shop in Lewisham, London for a time.

Then I decided to move up to Northamptonshire.

I now mostly specialize in one off pieces, but still sell more general items too, and can usually get hold of specialist items for customers, with the contacts I have made through the years.
